Hutch Hotels
and Resorts

In late 2024, I discovered a small Roblox game called Hutch Hotel. At the time, the game had almost no active players and very little ongoing development. The map and systems were outdated, unstable, and filled with technical issues that made long term growth nearly impossible.

Because of my prior experience building hotel games as the owner of Hynel, I decided to apply as a developer. I shared my resume, past work, and vision for what Hutch could become. The team immediately accepted me, and I joined the project as a lead developer.

My first steps were small but essential. I cleaned up existing systems, fixed broken assets, and stabilized the game. Shortly after, I designed a full custom user interface for Hutch Hotel. This UI became the foundation for everything that followed and marked the beginning of a full revival of the game.

Soon after, I built Hutch Hotel Version 4. While Version 4 was completed in less than a day and was relatively simple in scope, it became a defining moment for the project. A small group of passionate contributors joined in, helping build, test, and refine the game. Despite its simplicity, Version 4 created strong memories and reintroduced energy into the community.

Multiple trailers were produced, frequent updates followed, and the game began to feel alive again. I also designed custom icons and a new logo to strengthen Hutch’s visual identity.

After several months, I was commissioned to develop Hutch Hotel Version 5. This update was a complete modernization of the game. Version 5 introduced expanded rooms, a new second floor, modern systems, and a full in game economy with coins. The check in system was upgraded to CheckMeIn 4.0, replacing the older version. I personally invested around 4,000 Robux into the project to help kick start development and push the update forward. Version 5 also introduced features such as a juice bar, suite rooms, and long term progression systems. In return, I received lifetime upgrade compensation for my work.

At the start of 2025, I began development on Hutch Hotel Version 6 together with another developer. Version 6 was the most ambitious update yet. The map was expanded to more than three times its previous size and introduced vehicles, a brand new hotel layout, modern suites, redesigned rooms, a fully rebuilt check in experience, and a main building with multiple floors.

This update introduced numerous new systems, expanded admin tools, and significant backend improvements. Version 6 was released to very positive reception and marked Hutch’s peak in quality and scope. Following the release, another experienced builder joined the project and further refined the environment with improved terrain and detailed 3D models, building on top of the Version 6 foundation. After their departure, I continued development independently.

I led numerous themed updates that kept the game fresh and engaging, including seasonal events and limited time visual overhauls. One major update completely revamped Version 6 again, introducing new interior layouts, custom 3D assets, a redesigned pool area, seamless navigation without teleports, new name tags, and updated badges. The game received consistent updates throughout holidays and seasonal events to maintain player interest.

Beyond visuals, I developed several core systems from scratch. These included custom admin commands such as data banning and data checking, a fully redesigned training center with multiple career paths including security, housekeeping, bartender, and receptionist, and a complete written training guide for staff members. I also built a rank donation center using the RankGun API, allowing players to purchase ranks that automatically applied in game.

I later designed and integrated another advanced custom UI system used for warnings, moderation tools, and player management. This UI was one of the most complex systems in the game at the time and unified multiple backend features into a modern interface.

Through consistent updates, system development, and visual improvements, Hutch Hotel transformed from a nearly inactive game into a polished and feature rich experience. Player engagement increased significantly, and the game grew far beyond its original state.

While the project has since slowed due to direction changes, Hutch Hotels and Resorts remains one of my most meaningful projects. It represents my ability to take a broken, inactive game and rebuild it into a modern, scalable experience through design, scripting, leadership, and long term commitment.
